Some of our Year 6 children have participated in the ‘Arts Award.’ They have achieved so much in such a short period of time and have created some amazing masterpieces. There are definitely some future artists in Year 6. Well done to everyone involved!
Footsteps into Paradise
This week, some of our Year 4 children performed at Durham Cathedral with other schools from the Bishop Chadwick Trust. They did an outstanding job and represented St James fantastically. We are extremely proud of you all and it really was two nights that we will never forget.
Sports Day 2022
We had a brilliant day for Sports Day this year. All of the children demonstrated great sportsmanship and support for their peers. It was great to have family and friends here too for the experience. A big thank you to Mr Monaghan for organising such a fantastic day!
Year 6 Residential – Robinwood
Year 6 had a brilliant time at Robinwood recently. From action adventures to water sports activities – a fantastic time was had by all.
Stunt Show at St James
We are so lucky that ‘3Sixty Bicycle Stunt Team’ came to perform for us last week. They showed us some amazing stunts and blew everyone away with their performance. However, poor Dom was a bit shocked when he had to participate in one of their stunts. Thank you to ‘3Sixty Bicycle Stunt Team’ for coming to visit St James!
First Holy Communion
Recently, some of the Year 4 children celebrated their First Holy Communion. A fantastic day of celebrations was had by all and the children looked wonderful.
Revitalising our Estuaries
The children had a great morning visiting Hebburn Riverside Park. They carried out practical conservation work, wildlife spotting, butterfly friendly planting and a butterfly survey… and it was hot!!☀️
Platinum Jubilee Celebrations – Part 3
We explored the seventy decades, visiting the 50s for Queen Elizabeths’s coronation, dancing to the ‘locomotion’ in the 60s, boogying under the glitter balls of the 70s, attending Charles and Diana’s wedding in the 80s, playing Tetris and Pogs in the 90s, meeting the Queen’s grandchildren and great grandchildren in the noughties and making jewel crowns fit for a Platinum Jubilee.
A great day had by all – well done, St James!
Platinum Jubilee Celebrations – Part 2
Year 6 did a brilliant job organising all the outdoor games and we all enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch and cupcake made by Sara, our cook.
Platinum Jubilee Celebrations – Part 1
